From somewhere YOU'D rather be.

Well, not really, coz im back already. hahahaha, i left last Thursday night. Headed for the very place this mayne was born in. Brisbane, Queensland. Who would've guessed aye? some of my relatives didn't even know i was born there. Well, can't blame em all, apparently i was only a few months when i left. And now right back there and they like 'who's this big guy?' =P

Well, plane trip was aight, binge-eating week, eating everything didnt actually entail eating everything, but was good to feel at ease and let loose in terms of what i ate, the drive from airport to uncles place was pretty long, starring out the window and checkin' out the place, it was like sydney. But real laid back and spatious as idk what, but everything just seemed so big. Every single house looked like they were 5+ bedders. And even with that many houses, they managed to have a whole load of forest-like parts around, was kinda like....St. Ives if any of y'all have been to St. Ives here.

Snakes and ostriches here and there as well, wild, and funnily enough, not that scary hahahaha, but anyway, we stopped, 5 cars, two-storey house, 'lovely' was the word that came to mind when i stepped outta the car and saw the house. LOL. was still early, only arvo time, around 4? Everyone was up and chatty, everyone waiting in the lounge room, all eyes on us. Lucky they were the 7-8 aunts i had already met before and a few lil nephews running around like crazy. And then i saw it, the famous 'ladder biscuits' that i had loved since the first time i had em back when i was primary school age (when i went to Darwin to check out other relos, that is) hahaha, but unpacking came first, and the cousins and my bro were all ready and talkin' of hitting the clubs to see what it was like. Costume party they say? Well, that's what we did, we went costume hunting.

Not being sure on who we had goin' and not being sure what would look best for us as a group, we headed home and just changed normally so we would at least be ready to go and party. Maybe it was fate tho, we got to the club, Klub Kandy, and guess what? the people there were giving out free devil horns for everyone to wear, and wear them we did =P lucky us! and then we waited for the next half hour to hour just to get into the club, lucky it was hot, otherwise I would've just vouched for us to go home.

3-4 Levels, all sortsa music, a pretty nice mix actually, but we were literally packed like sardines in there, walking past one person took like a few minutes, drinks weren't the cheapest, but they sufficed, only coz it was like a trek up mount Everest to get a drink. Halloween was the theme, and man some people were dressed quite well. Danced the night away, standing right next to the sub woofers, the bass was almost like aircon. Met moar people on the dancefloor and just danced, every song made you wanna move, so move we didd, act silly, the moments of tiredness were blown away when the next song came on even louder.

As the party went on, it realli was exhausting, so we had finally come to the decision to leave, and after a good 5-10 songs later, we did hahahahaah, getting out was quite swift, as we got out, there was some guy at the exit with lacerations to his mouth, apparently he was punched in the face. Funny thing was, i gathered this not by hearing (coz i realli couldn't hear ANYTHING) but by his friend gesturing a punch, explaining it to the paramedics who arrived. I didn't even hear the cars going past, was like wearing noise-cancelling headphones but not listening to music. Walked back to car, getting use to not hearing anything, trying to gain back the skill of hearing, everyone was hungry and tired. The first words i heard were...'Dom said.....Maccas...this trip...must have' and so i said, Yeah!, i dont know how loud i said it, but everyone turned to look at me. Awkward for a lil, but then we DID go to maccas =P Drive-thru at 4am in the morning? GG. I realised my bigmac had like two pieces of lettuce in it the following morning, but that was ohkay. You only have maccas for the fat anyway hahahahah

Shower was slow and eerie in the dead of night, sleep was terrible (got bitten by like bugs or something, the back of my head still hurts from something) and woke early the next morning. Exhausted.

"Get READY! We're going to the gold coast. NOW." Then it was as if someone slammed the acceleration pedal, and everything went in fastforward. Everything just so fast, cleaning, eating, chatting, dayum even playing pool felt like 2 seconds, then we got on the car. Then it felt like i was watching grass grow. Long ass road trip all the way to the Gold Coast! sleep was....i dont even know if i slept, but it was quite the ride there. But we hit the point where there were a load of trees, a clear blue sky and a load of cars. One big sign.

MOVIE WORLD.

This was the time we went on to search for the one and only. Batman. Either that or Ben 'n Jerry's Ice Cream. Whichever one you'd prefer. I got both =P But coincidentally we had also visited on Movie World's 20th anniversary, we walked around, havin' food, frozen coke, chocolate, takin' photos here and there, my lil nieces went for rides and my cousins went for rides and games too. Batman played a little scene, as did scooby and marilyn monroe. THEN WE SAW BATMAN IN THE ALLEY. Just as he walked off for a break LOL but did look quite like the movies coz he walked into another dodgy alleyway. That's when we went for ice cream and moar photos and finally....we saw him again. Shake of hands, Photo, silent acknowledgement of each other and it was done. It's what we paid the 80 for. To see THE batman.

Then time came to leave so we wandered around, doing some last minute souvenior shopping or photo-taking when we heard the announcement. Character Parade. AWESOME. Looney Tunes characters all of em paradin' down in they vehicles, catwoman was walking.... and then Austin Powers was there too, then batman in (or on, i should say) his batmobile rollin' on down. THEN...this part made my day. Party Rock Anthem came on, and the Looney Tunes characters...THEY SHUFFLED, to the song, like full properly n stuff, was quite the scene. Guess Movie World IS pretty awesome =P So it came to a close, and we left and hit the road again, for a view of Surfers Paradise before we headed home, it was all hot and bothersome and
incomparable to Movie World, well, maybe coz we were tired and had no swimwear hahahaha, So we slept
our way home, and that was pretty much the end of day two. Well, we had small dinner and played pool and singstar will we went to sleep. And yeah, that was the end of day two.

Day 3 was quite the strange wait, the final touches of the wedding preparation (as we WERE living at the Bride's mum's place) as well as all the females getting their make-up and hair done, checking out their dresses, and the guys waiting down in the lounge room, seemingly not caring but checking themselves out everynow and then too, so games of pool it was. Played till others wanted to play, then changed up and checked out how the photographer was going, taking pics of everything and anything that she was directed to take pictures of. Funny when they were taking the moar important photos and everyone was told to either pretend to be chatting with each other or laughing together ahahahaha, was quite the awkward situation if u ask me =P But the time came, the trip to the church for the exchanging of the vows. So we headed there and twas a pretty grand church. The ceremony seemed to fly past, what was an hour, felt like 5 minutes. we were in and out of there pretty quickly. The photos took quite a bit of time too, the whole family photo consisted of ....i have no idea how many people hahahaha, but was quite a lot, only the photographer could get a picture of everyone in one shot hahahaha.

As this concluded, the venue was to be checked out a final time before an hours rest and then back for the dinner. Helped out with the venue decorations for a lil before we headed back for a lil rest and change of a shirt, just for a better look and feel for the night. The entrance was aight, thought we were late, but turns out, we were right on time, intro'd to a lot of relatives that i didnt even know i had, intro'd to their kids with awkward handshakes n all, then went to get seated. The place was decorated quite nicely, floral green theme. Was a buffet dinner, but had to get called out and lined up for food, which was lil incentive as the food was good, but not the greatest. So that went by, along with the few nervous speeches which were given by both families and from the bride to groom and groom to bride. Got a few drinks down, the night looked to be boring overall, but there was a photobooth outside! a dress up one, with silly photos to be taken! so take photos we did, and was fun, the few minutes it lasted, maybe even less.

Dancin' time was awkward, the aunties takin' their turns at picking out who they wanted to dance with and then dancing for a song and then changing over, it was all fun and games, despite the playlist being a lil....random tryna suit lil kiddos these days and the oldies from back in the day. Tho we made the best of the good songs, strutting our stuff to a few songs and then finally building up and eventually got everyone shufflin' to the party rock anthem. And it was pretty awesome what partying could be had with just a lil trigger. Too bad that only lasted for the few songs before and after. Then the songs went back into romantic music, for the couples to dance to, here's where i missed my babee, would've been perfect with her in my arms instead of sitting there awkwardly sippin' my drink. Then the wedding cake was cut, and shared, there was so much cream, im not even sure there was any cake....in the cake. And so onward! shared the last dance with mum and then party over. Congratulations and thanks to the bride and groom for the good time, and an exhausting ride home, a challenge of keeping my eyelids up the whole way home so i wouldn't have to be woken when we got back.

Getting back. Car Stopped. Out of car. I look to the sky. It was the perfect night sky. Stars shining so brightly, gentle wind blowing, the perfect dark blue accompanying the stars, i raised my phone to try and capture the moment, but the camera couldn't catch the stars. Some moments just have to be saved in ur mind, i'm definitely gon take my grrl to see this night sky some place, sometime, and it'll be perfect =) Headed into the house, headed upstairs, slumped down after a quick shower and there wasn't even any memory of people arriving back, i was already fast asleep, and the lights were already out. Day 4.

Morning wake, actually, morning wakes* coz i woke at least 5 times before i actually woke up and got up too. Everyone was up already, excited and running around, my youngest niece high as ever, jumping and running around like there was fire beneath her feet hahahaha. Breakfast consisted of sweet biscuits, orange juice, milk, water, some asian desserts and coffee cheesecake which was EPIC. We found one of our uncles on google maps, sweeping his driveway which was the talk of the morning. A serious talk tho, until i started laughing coz well.... it was funny. So then we played pool again, before heading off to an apparently 'Little Taiwan' down town near Sunny Bank. And so we headed off.

PARKING WAS CRAZEHHHHHH, was like, no space to even TURN in the dayum place. Thai food, Viet food, Jap food, Korean food, Shang food, even Indian food, only thing i couldn't see was Taiwanese food! We got off the car and went for a walk, got to wear my sunnies today, well, coz we forgot it when we went movieworld hahahaha, but today was especially hot. Supermarket was the aim for the aunties while the uncles waited impatiently outside, the lil kiddos ran around to their toy shops to look for the cute things they could play with. Then we headed for a turn which would take us to 'Little Taiwan' and lo and behold. what we saw brought laughs to EVERYONE, it was a tiny supermarket called 'Little Taiwan' hahahaha, was good tho, we bought snacks for the way home or to our next destination theree, and then headed back to the cars.

Next stop, South Bank. Long strip by the coast with extra man made pools of all types and streets and streets of markets sellin' all types of things here and there. Had churros for the first time with cream and chocolate sauce. was pre-tty awesome food hahahahaha, then shopped purchase-less-ly and then finally ended up at La Via. 16 pizzas, 18-20 people. Was some pre-tty dayum good pizza i must say. All the pizzas were like they got vacuumed once they were put on the table, was all gone in under 20 minutes. But as it does when y'all havin' fun, time flew, and it was way too fast, but already time to say our goodbyes to the first few people we wouldn't be seeing for a while till the next time we visited them or they visited us. And so we headed back for our last sit down with everyone before we left for the airport with our stuff. Was awkward and felt a lil unreal, coz time had gone so fast, it didn't even feel like we went to Brisbane, and we already we're leaving. So the goodbyes were shared and off we went to the airport. Hoping the next time we come back would be soon rather than later.

And so, the 4 day holiday trip to see my town of birth and to attend my cousins wedding ended as we got off my uncle's car and said our last goodbye. Was a good holiday, and we did quite a bit for just the 4 days.

After havin' all that typed out, im kinda out of anything else to say, so i'll end it quick =P

It feels good to be back, but now it's back to reality and back to gettin' to business. Hope y'all been taking it easy while this mayne's been away. If you haven't then...

Take it easy,
Mr. Jyamaigo
